BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University men's soccer won its home opener, Saturday after noon, defeating Florida College, 4-0. Newcomers Sean Whalen and Ivan Bakovic owned the day, combing for three goals and an assist.

The first 10 minutes saw Florida College come out fast putting the Warriors back on their heels. A triple-save by Randy Chesson kept the Panthers off the board and swung the momentum back to Webber International.

The Warriors got on the board first in the 13th minute. Driss Baraket played a great ball to Sam Todd, who put the ball in to the top corner. The Panthers would then go down to 10 men just before halftime, after a player accumulated two yellow cards.

Webber International took advantage of its man advantage in the second half, netting three more goals. Whalen wasted no time making an impact netting his first goal of 2015 in the 54th minute. The offensive outburst was pushed forward by Bakovic, who found the back of the net twice in the space of four minutes (65', 69').

In the 70th minute play was stopped for a lightning delay.

When play resumed, Backovic nearly secured a hat trick, as his free kick attempt was denied by the post.

Webber International would go on to secure the, 4-0, victory to improve to 1-0 on the season.

The Warriors are back in action, Wednesday, September 16 on the road against Eckerd College.
