Box Score BRUNSWICK, Ga. – Webber International University went north to take on the College of Coastal Georgia, Wednesday, falling to the Mariners, 3-1. Freshman Sophie Rossard led the way for Webber International, scoring nine kills and 23 assists.
Coastal Georgia dominated the early goings, taking a 13-3 lead in the first set. The Warriors fought back but eventually lost the first set, 25-16.
The Warriors bounced back in the second set. The Mariners once again took an early lead, going ahead 7-3. Webber International battled back building an 11-9 lead. The two teams traded the lead to the very end. Facing a Costal Georgia set point, the Warriors took the next three points to win the set, 27-25.
Webber International struggled to keep the momentum going dropping the next two sets and the match, 3-1.
The Warriors are back in action, Friday, October 23 hosting Keiser.
