BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University volleyball is set for three matches this week. First up for the Warriors is a conference matchup with Ave Maria, Tuesday, October 20. Webber International then heads north for a match against the College of Costal Georgia, Wednesday, October 21. The Warriors close out the week, Friday, October 23 against Keiser.
Last Time Out
The Warriors played two matches in Miami last week. Webber International first took on St. Thomas. Webber International battled but would fall to the Bobcats, 3-0. The Warriors bounced back against Florida Memorial, defeating the Lions, 3-1.
About Ave Maria
The Gyrenes are 13-10 in 2015 and hold a 1-6 mark in the Sun Conference. Ave Maria is 2-3 in the last five matches, recording wins over Florida Memorial and Trinity College.
The Gyrene offense is led by junior Lexy Smith's 278 kills and boasts two players that have topped the 300 assist mark. On defense it is Smith who again leads the way, racking up a total of 82 blocks.
About College of Costal Georgia
The Eagles hold a 20-3 overall record and are 11-1 in the SSAC. Costal Georgia is 4-2 in the month of October, including a loss to Warrior opponent University of Mobile.
The Eagle offense features five players pass the 100-kill mark, led by freshman Regan Coughlin's 224.
About Keiser
The Seahawks own an 18-1 this season and are 3-3 against Sun Conference opposition. Keiser saw a three-match win streak get snapped last week, with a 3-0 loss at Southeastern.
The Seahawks are led by junior Nikki McKown's 252 kills, closely followed by junior Megan Minke's 221. Junior Nicole Papineau is Keiser's primary setters, registering a team-high 793.
