Men’s Soccer Heads to Miami for Two Matches

BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University men's soccer travels south this week for two Sun Conference match ups. The Warriors open the week, Wednesday, October 14 against (RV) Florida Memorial. Webber International to Miami to take on St. Thomas, Saturday, October 17.

Last Time Out
The Warriors were last in action October 7 in a road match against Warner.

Webber International fought hard in the match but could not find the back of the net, eventually falling to the Royals, 1-0. It was not for a lack of effort, as the Warriors fired off 15 shots, forcing the Warner goal keeper to make six saves. After the Royals scored in the 20th minute, they fell back into a defensive shell to hold on to the slim lead.

About Florida Memorial
The Lions will go into Wednesday's match with a 7-5 record and, 2-2 mark in the Sun Conference. Florida Memorial has been a .500 club in it last six matches, going 3-3.

The Lions have had great balance on offense with 12 different players scoring at least one goal and have seen five different player register an assists this season.

About St. Thomas
The Bobcats own a 6-4 overall record and are 3-1 against Sun Conference opponents. St. Thomas ended September in spectacular fashion, taking down two ranked opponents in the same weekend. The Bobcats first defeated then-No.23 SCAD and followed it up with an upset victory over then-No. 4 Thomas.

Junior Fabien Heinrich leads the Bobcat offense with seven points on one assist and a team-high three goals.
