BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University hosted conference double header for the men's and women's basketball teams against St. Thomas University at 5 p.m. on Thursday, February 6 in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
WIU Lady Warriors and STU Lady Bobcats started the night with tipoff at 5 o'clock. Webber was down by 4 at half time with a score of 25-21. The final score was St. Thomas over Webber, 60-50.
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were: #02 forward,
Laquandra Brazill, with 13 points, 14 rebounds, and 2 steals; # 24 forward,
Yesenia Lora, with 15 points, 2 rebounds, and 1 steal; #03 guard,
Alishia Kahan, with 6 points, 5 rebounds, 9 assists, and 2 steals; #23 guard,
Jasmine Singleton with 9 points, 1 rebound, 1 assist, and 2 steals.
The Lady Warriors record falls to 9-11 overall and 6-6 in The Sun Conference. The Lady Bobcats record improves to 13-10 overall and 10-2 in The Sun Conference.
After a short break, the men's basketball teams went head to head. WIU and STU were tied at half time with a score of 40-40, but the Bobcats would outscore the Warriors in the second half, 64-46, with a final score of 104-86.
Leading the Warriors on the court were #32 forward,
Aaron Terry with 14 points, 10 rebounds, 2 assists, and 2 steals; # 01 guard,
Raymond Durant with 17 points, 2 rebounds, 5 assists, and 1 steal; # 03 guard,
Giovanni Poitier with 10 points, 3 rebounds, 2 assists, and 1 steal; #04 guard, Nate Morrell with 14 points, 1 rebound, 6 assists, and 2 steals; and #12
Markitis Paige, with 15 points.
The Warriors score falls to 8-16 overall and 4-9 in The Sun Conference. The Bobcats record improves to 18-5 overall and 11-2 in The Sun Conference.
Webber men's and women's basketball teams will return to action in a double-header against Johnson & Wales University in North Miami, Florida on February 8
th starting at 4 p.m. The next home game will be a double-header against Thomas College (GA.) on Saturday, February 22, starting at 4 p.m. in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
