Warriors Host Fire in Conference Double-Header 1-1

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International men's and women's basketball teams faced off against Southeastern University, home of the fire, in a conference matchup on Tuesday, February 4th in the Sabbagh Athletic Center starting at 5:30 p.m.

The Lady Warriors and Lady Fire started the night off and took the lead into half time 31-28. In the second half the Lady Warriors out-scored the Lady Fire 46-27, and won the game with a final score of 77-55.

Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were #24 forward, Yesenia Lora, with 16 points, 5 rebounds, and 3 assists; #23 guard, Jasmine Singleton with 16 points, 2 rebounds, 1 assist, and 1 steal; and #02 forward Laquandra Brazill, with 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and 3 steals.

The Lady Warriors improve their score 12-8 overall and 9-3 in The Sun Conference. The Lady Fire's record falls to 13-10 overall and 6-5 in The Sun Conference.

The men's game started just shortly after. The Fire took the lead into half time 36-32. The Warriors gained the lead, 66-65 with 4:32 left to the Fire answered with 4:16 going up 67-66. Nate Morrell hit a 3 to put the Warriors back in front 69-67 with 4:06 left in the game. The Fire then score the last three points, putting the Fire on top with a final score of 71-69.

The Warriors record falls to 8-15 overall and 4-8 in The Sun Conference. The Fire's record improves to 18-4 overall and 9-3 in The Sun Conference.

The Warriors men's and women's teams will return to action in a double-header against St. Thomas University on Thursday, February 6th in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
