Miami, Fla. – The #4 seeded Webber International University Lady Warriors basketball team traveled to face off against the #1 seeded St. Thomas Lady Bobcats. The Lady Warriors repeated their success in The Sun Conference Tournament advancing to the championship game over the Lady Bobcats, 71-62.
The Lady Warriors started out with their foot on the gas outscoring St. Thomas, 35-25, in the first half. After the break the Lady Bobcats would come out fired up outscoring Webber, 11-6. The Lady Warriors extended back to a double digit lead and would hold on to that until the end of the game, 71-62.
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were;
Alishia Kahan scoring 16 points, six rebounds, three assists, and a steal. She also shot 10-10 from the line; Yesennia Lora scored 15 points, eight rebounds, two assists and blocks, and a steal;
Sarah Dileonardo scored nine points with eight rebounds and one assist; and
Shakeria Wilson scored eight points with two rebounds and went four for six from the line.
The Lady Warriors improved to 15-11 overall and they will return to action on Saturday, March 1
st and will play either Ave Maria or Southeastern starting at 3:00 p.m.
