BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors men's and women's basketball team traveled to Ave Maria University to face off against the Gyrenes.
The Lady Warriors and the Lady Gyrenes started the night off with a 5:00 p.m. tip-off. The Lady Gyrenes came out in the first half on fire outscoring the Lady Warriors 39-28. The Lady Warriors came out strong in the second half scoring 35 points to the Lady Gyrenes 28 but it was not enough to take down the Lady Gyrenes. The Lady Warriors fell 67-63 to the Lady Gyrenes.
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were: #24
Yesenia Lora with 23 points, 7 rebounds, 3 steals, and an assist; #2 Laquandra Brazil with 16 points, 8 rebounds, and 3 steals; and #23
Jasmine Singleton and #25
Sarah Dileonardo both scored 8 points.
The Lady Warriors record falls to 10-8 overall and 7-3 in The Sun Conference.
After a short break the Warriors men faced off against the Gyrenes men. The beginning of the game showed that it was going to be a battle as both teams went back and forth the whole first half. The Warriors would take a two point lead into the half, 31-29. After the half, the battle would continue. The Warriors would gain a one point lead with seven seconds left and would be unable to stop the Gyrenes losing, 62-61, at the buzzer.

Sean Jowers with 9 points, 2 rebounds, and a steal.
The Warriors fall to 8-14 overall and 4-7 in The Sun Conference.
Both Warrior teams return to action on Tuesday, February 4th as they host the Southeaster University Fire starting at 5:00 p.m.
