LAKELAND, Fla. – The Webber International University Lady Warriors basketball team traveled to Lakeland, Florida, to face off against conference opponent Southeastern University Lady Fire. The Lady Warriors would leave Lakeland with a important conference win 72-66.
Webber started off the night with cold shooting, while Southeastern shot 6/15 from the three point line. Southeastern led Webber 35-28 at the half.
In the second half webber played multiple defenses to slow down southeastern. Yesenia Lora led Webber with 20 points. Jasmine Singleton also contributed 13 points. Key contributions from the bench came from Shaquora Lane and Quanthavia Stalworth who led the team with 8 rebounds. Webber outscored southeastern 44-31 in the second half and won the game 72-66.
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were: #24 Yesenia Lora with 20 points, seven rebounds, one steal and one assist; #23 Jasmine Singleton with 13 points, five rebounds, three blocks and one assist.
The Lady Warriors record improves to 5-6 overall and 2-1 in The Sun Conference.
The Lady Warriors will return to action on Saturday, January 11th as they face St. Thomas University starting at 2:00 p.m. in Miami.
