BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University men's and women's basketball teams went head to head in a conference matchup Saturday, January 18
th at 2 p.m. and 4 p.m. in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
The Lady Warriors would take an 11 point lead into half time 27-38 over the Lady Seahawks. Webber would sweep Northwood, 31-47 in the second half, with a final score of 85-58.
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were: #02 forward,
Laquandra Brazill, with 15 total points including 5 field goals, 5-5 free throws and 3 rebounds;#25 forward,
Sarah Dileonardo with 15 total points, including 5 3-pt field goals, 4 rebounds, and 2 steals; #23 guard,
Jasmine Singleton with 15 total points including 4 total field goals, 3 3-pt field goals, 4 free throws and 10 rebounds; and #24 guard
Yesenia Lora with 10 total points including 2 field goals, 6 free-throws, 6 rebounds, and 2 steals.
The Lady Warriors improve their score 7-7 overall and 4-2 in The Sun Conference. The Lady Seahawks record falls to 8-9 overall and 4-2 in The Sun Conference.
The men's basketball teams took the court to end the conference double header. The Seahawks would take a 3 point lead over the Warriors into half time and win the game 81-64.
Leading the men on the court were: #32 forward,
Aaron Terry with 23 total points, including 8 field goals and 7 rebounds; and #33 forward,
Jovany Deceus, with 11 total points, including 5 field goals and 4 rebounds.
The Warriors record falls to 7-11 overall and 3-4 in The Sun Conference. The Seahawks record improves to 15-3 overall and 6-1 in The Sun Conference.
The Warriors men's and women's basketball teams will return to action on Thursday, January 23
rd for a conference double-header against Florida Memorial. Tipoff is at 2 p.m. for the women and 7 p.m. for the men.
