BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University men's and women's basketball teams faced off against Johnson & Wales University in conference matchup Tuesday, January 14
th at 5:30 in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
The lady Warriors and Lady Wildcats started the night off at 5:30 p.m. WIU took a 15 point lead into half time, 43-28. After the half, the Lady Warriors would gain 42 points and win the game 85-72 over Johnson & Wales.
Leading the Lady Warriors on the court were: #02 forward,
Laquandra Brazill with 32 points, including 14 field goals and 9 rebounds; and #24 forward
Yesenia Lora with 23 points, including 10 field goals and 7 rebounds.
The Lady Warriors improved their score 6-7 overall and 3-2 in The Sun Conference. The Lady Wildcats record falls to 5-9 overall and 0-5 in The Sun Conference.
After a short break, the men's basketball teams took the court to end the conference double header. WIU went into the half on top 37-21. JWU would attempt to gain the lead but to no avail in the second half. The Warriors would outscore them again in the second half, 43-34 with a final winning score 80-55 over the Wildcats.
Leading the Warriors on the court were: #32
Aaron Terry with 15 points, including 6 field goals and 6 rebounds; and #33
Jovany Deceus with 13 points, including 6 field goals.
The Warriors men's and women's teams will return to action in a double-header against Northwood University on Saturday, January 18
th in the Sabbagh Athletic Center. Tipoff is at 2 p.m. for the women and 4 p.m. for the men.
