Webber Wins First Lake Caloosa Clash, 23-0

Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors football team hosted Crooked Lake rivals Warner University Royals at Legion Field in Lake Wales on Saturday, September 7th at 7 p.m. The Warriors would come out victorious in the First Lake Caloosa Clash with the final score of 23-0.
 
The Warriors would shout out the Royals during the first ever Lake Caloosa Clash, 23-0. The Warriors would score in every quarter starting in the first with a one yard rush by the quarterback Billy Pavlock with 8:34 left on the clock. Then in the second half Anthony Woythaler would make a 45 yard field goal to put the Warriors up 10-0 going into the half.  At half time after, the Sound of the Warriors performance the Lady Warriors basketball team was honored and given their rings for winning The Sun Conference Championship last year. The Warriors would return to the field and score two more times in the third quarter first on another one yard rush from Billy Pavlock with 11:50 left in the quarter. Then with 8:02 left Anthony Woythaler would make a 47 yard field goal putting the Warriors up 20-0. In the fourth quarter the Warriors kicker Anthony Woythaler would make a 37 yard field goal with 3:47 left in the game, 23-0. The Royals would not score due to the great Warriors defense.
 
Leading the Warriors on the field were: Billy Pavlock who had nine completions on 18 attempts and one interception along with rushing for 75 yards and two touchdowns; Brendan Deshields who rushed for 62 yards on 18 carries; Larry Jackson would have three receptions for 68 yards.
 
On the defensive side of the ball the Warriors were lead by Steven Willis and Steven Mcpherson both with four solo tackles and one assisted tackle. Also Edward Robertson would have two solo sacks for a loss of 12 yards.
 
The Warriors record improves to 1-1 overall for the season and the Royals fall to 0-2 overall.
 
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, September 14th, as they travel to Pineville, Louisiana, as they take on Louisiana College with the game starting at 12:00 p.m.
