Box Score Montgomery, Ala. – The Webber International University Webber Warriors football team traveled to Montgomery, Alabama, where they faced off against the Faulkner University Eagles. The Eagles would prove to be too much for the Warriors to handle. The game ended with a final score of 51-21.
In the first half the Eagles would put the first points of the board with 12:03 left in the first off a 41 yard field goal. The Warriors would respond and take the lead when
Billy Pavlock connected to
Corey Jackson on a 41 yard reception, 7-3 Warriors on top. The Eagles would score 21 points unanswered by the Warriors until there was eight seconds left in the first.
Billy Pavlock connected again with
Corey Jackson for a five yard reception, 24-14 Eagles on top.
In the second half the Warriors would cut the lead to three points when
Billy Pavlock connected with Mitch Choquette for a 76 yard touchdown reception, 24-21 Eagles still on top. The Eagles of Faulkner would then runaway with the game scoring 27 unanswered points to end the game on top of the Warriors 51-21.
Leading the Warriors on the offensive side of the ball was
Billy Pavlock who had 9 completions for 15 attempts no interceptions and had a total of 169 yards in the air. Cory Jackson also lead the Warriors scoring two of their three touchdown. Jackson had four receptions for 58 yards and two touchdowns.
Leading the Warriors on the defensive side of the ball was
Steven Willis had eight unassisted tackles including a sack for 16 yards and Willis had the only interception of the game for 18 yards.
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, September 7
th, as they host Crooked Lake Rival Warner University in the first ever Lake Caloosa Clash starting at 7:00 p.m.
