Warriors Show Up Strong Against St. Andrews University

Babson Park, Fla. - The Webber Warrior men's soccer team showed today that they are ready to start the season and that their team strength will be one of their advantages this year. Hosting St. Andrews University at their new Webber Field, the Warriors beat the Knights, 4-1.

In the first half, the Warriors quickly took charge of the matchup with #19 Fabian Egger scoring in the first six minutes of the game. Keeping tight control of the game the Warrior's second goal came shortly thereafter scored by #9 Vicente Munoz. Going into half time the Warriors were up 2-0.

After the half the Knights clearly came back with the intention of making a difference. However they only succeeded in scoring one goal in the second half to the Warriors' two.

Leading for the Warriors with five shots was #9 Vicente Munoz. Overall the Warriors outshot the Knights 20-15. #9 Vicente Munoz, #11 Craig Hughes, #19 Fabian Egger, and #22 Timothy Stanford all scored one goal.

The Warriors improve their record to 1-0 overall and the Knights' record falls to 0-2 overall.

The Warriors return to action against the Warner Royals on Wednesday, September 4th. The game will be hosted at Warner University, kick off is scheduled for 7 p.m.
