Warriors Fall To The #1 Eagles in Conference Opener, 72-58

BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber International University men's basketball team hosted #1 Embry-Riddle University Eagles in the Sabbagh Athletic Center. This matchup was The Sun Conference opener for both teams. The Eagles came into the game undefeated at 8-0 taking on the 2-5 Warriors. The Eagles would come out on top of the Warriors with a final 72-58.

The Warriors would fight hard throughout the entire game and would come up short in the second half as the #1 Eagles would finally pull away and win the game. The Warriors would give the Eagles a six minute drought in the end of the first half to cut the lead to two points going into half time, 24-22. After the break the Warriors would come out on fire and gain the lead for the first time of the game after hitting two shots from beyond the arc. The Eagles would then regroup and regain the lead and not look back. The Eagles would out score the Warriors 48-36 in the second half ending the game on top 72-58.

Leading the Warriors on the court were; #1 Raymond Durant with 11 points three assists and three rebounds; #3 Giovanni Poitier and #33 Jovany Deceus would both have 10 points and two steals; #4 Nate Morrell would have eight points four assists and two steals.

The Warriors fall to 2-6 overall and 0-1 in The Sun Conference.

The Warriors will return to action as they travel across Crooked Lake to face off against Warner University on Thursday, December 5th starting at 7:00 p.m.
