Box Score BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Lady Warriors pulled of another conference win tonight against Florida Memorial University with the final score of 60-54.
It was physical contest from jump ball as both teams approached the game with a must win attitude. The Lady Lions jumped to a quick 10-4 start but WIU countered with a 8-0 run of their own.
WIU led at halftime by 1 point. The score was 29-28. Jasmine Rodriguez had 8 points and
Erin Henry had 7 points.
The second half was controlled by WIU with their full court trap, which was too much for the Lady Lions to handle forcing them into 12 total turnovers. FMU was held to just 28% field goal shooting in the first half and 25% for the game. Leading the offensive charge for the Warriors was Jasmine Rodriguez was a career high 20 points while
Yesenia Lora added the usual 15 points to go along with 14 rebounds.
The Lady Warriors return to action next week Tuesday to face Clearwater Christian College in a non-conference matchup. Tip off is set for 4:00 p.m.
