Royals Down Warriors Again

Box Score LAKE WALES, Fla. – Lady Warriors traveled to challenge and take revenge on Crooked Lake rival, Warner University, on Valentine's Day. At the end of the night, Webber fell 44-75 and was deprived of their vengeance.

Erin Henry scored the first bucket for the Warriors, and they competed with Royals, and with 5:28 left in the first half, Kadejah Maple made a jumper to get Webber within two, but Willis Stephanie seemed perfect from beyond the arc gave her team a 14-5 run to finish the first half. Jakira Robinson made the final shot in the first half to send her team with a 22-31 deficit at the half.

Second half belonged to Warner, as they improved to 12-14 overall and 6-6 in The Sun Conference. Webber fell to 2-25 in the season and 1-11 in The Sun Conference after a 44-75 loss.

Erin Henry had a team high of 8 points, 3 assists, and 3 rebounds. Webber shot 18-54 (30.5%), and their free-throw percentage was a mere 5-10 (50%).

Stephanie Wills from WU had a game high with 28 points; she made 8-14 three-point field goals. Warner shot 24-67 (35.8%) from the field, and made 10-14 (71.4%) free-throw.

Webber had 8 points off turnovers to 11 points by Warner. Warriors had 8 second chance points to 22 by Royals. Lady Warriors' bench came up with 13 points to 19 by Lady Royals. Webber was out-rebounded by Warner 35 to 53; however, WIU had only 10 turnovers to 12 by WU.

Webber International will be hosting Johnson & Wales on February 17, 2012 at 7 pm, and on Saturday February 18, 2012 Lady Warriors will be honoring their seniors as they host Northwood University at 2 pm in the Sabbagh Athletic Center.
