BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Warriors of Webber International University traveled to Lakeland to face off against conference opponent Southeastern University Fire.
The Warriors defeated the Fire 75-72 improving their record to 4-4 overall and 2-1 in The Sun conference. WIU dominated the game early with point guard
Brian Pace getting of to a hot start. The Warriors led at the half by 2 points.
In the second half, the Warriors increased their lead to double digits when senior forward
Tyler Auerbacher made a 3 point basket. WIU controlled the game the entire second half but a late run by SEU made it a bit interesting with 2 minutes remaining in regulation. Leading the Warriors in scoring was
Brian Pace who tallied 23 points, 3 rebs and 2 steals.
Tyler Auerbacher added 15 points, 4 rebounds, 2 assists and
Jakeem Hill added 14 points.
Gabriel Rutledge had a game high 13 rebounds as he continues to climb his way into the record books. He led the team with 4 assists, 3 blocks and 3 steals.
The Warriors will return to action on Saturday, December 8
th and will face off against Bethune-Cookman in an exhibition starting at 4:00 p.m.
