Lady Warriors Tame Lady Lions In Straight Sets

Babson Park, FL. The Lady Warriors of Webber International University tamed the Lady Lions of Florida Memorial University in a The Sun Conference matchup as the Lady Warriors won in straight sets 3-0 (25-12, 25-18, 25-9).

The Lady Warriors hit an astonishing .423% in the first set with only three errors to go along with stingy defense, holding the Lady Lions to a -.036% hitting percentage. The Lady Warriors continued their efficient hitting and stingy defense in the second set with a .207% hitting percentage with only 6 errors and still holding Florida Memorial to a -.032% hitting percentage. In the third and final set, the Lady Lions offense had no answer for the Lady Warriors defense hitting a -.348%. The Lady Warriors forced 11 hitting errors in the set to help them win the match in straight sets.

Junior Setter Katie Lindstrom paced the Lady Warriors offense with 30 assist and scooped up 6 digs on defense. Freshman Outside Breanna Evoy lead the Lady Warriors attack with 8 kills, 7 digs and 2 solo blocks. Following Evoy, Junior Outside Chelsea Umana and Junior Middle Blocker Deidre Noble each had 6 kills each. Umana and Noble were very efficient on offense as both hit over .400% in the match. Noble let the team in blocks, just ahead of Evoy, with 3 solo blocks. Junior Libero Hayley Bennett led the Lady Warriors back line defense with a game high 11 digs.

As a team, the Lady Warriors offense was very efficient and the defense was very stingy. The Lady Warriors defense recorded 42 digs and 6 blocks, all solo, as the offensive hit a .276% in the match. The Lady Warriors improve to 17-9, 8-1 TSC as the Lady Lions fall to 4-13, 0-8 TSC.

 

The Lady Warriors will return to action on Tuesday, October 2nd as they travel to  Clearwater Christian College for a match at 7:00 p.m.
