Box Score LAKELAND, Fla. - Southeastern University ran past Webber International, 84-60, Saturday night in an important conference game in the SEU Sportsplex.
The Southeastern defense used a 2-3 zone to frustrate the Warriors all night.
In the first half, Webber shot just 1-of-14 from three-point land and 33% from the floor.
Southeastern once again received major contributions from their bench, as they scored 19 of the Fire's 33 first half points. Dwayne Johnson helped ignite a run midway through the first half to help the Fire take a 33-25 halftime lead.
The Fire used a 22-5 run to start the second half, using it to build a 25 point lead. SEU also dominated the glass, outrebounding Webber, 55-33.
SEU had five players score in double-figures, Malcolm Pollock led the Fire with14 points, five rebounds, and five assists.
The Fire defense held Webber's leading scorer, Dave Marlar, to just seven points.
Webber falls to 8-8 overall and 2-5 in conference play.
Warriors will be back in action on Saturday January 28, 2012 versus Johnson and Wales University in a conference match at the Sabbagh Athletic Center, and the tip-off will be at 7 pm.
