Warriors Fall to the Lions

St. Leo, Fla. – Men's soccer (0-2) team lost to St. Leo University (2-0) with a score of 1-6 on Monday September 5, 2011.

Edgar Herrera scored twice for the Lions before Javier De La Cruz placed the ball in the net in the 24th minute, the keeper was caught off line and Javier blasted the ball into the net from 40 yards. St. Leo scored two more times in the first half.

The Lions managed to get pass the Warrior defense and score two more times in the second half.

The Lions outshot the Warriors with 16 to our six shots; Javier De La Cruz had team-high with three shots and two of them were on target. Edgar Herrera had a team-high with four shots, three on frame, two goals, and one assist.

Matthew Brust played the majority of the game, where he had two saves and six goals allowed. Angel Rodriguez played 31 minutes and in that time he had one spectacular save in the 72nd minute mark.

Warriors will travel to Georgia this weekend where they will play Brewton Parker on Friday September 9, 2011 at 4 p.m. and on Sunday September 11, 2011 they will play against Thomas University (Ga.) at 3:30 p.m.
