Warriors Fall Short Against Raiders

Ashland, OR. – The Webber International University's Football Team traveled to Ashland, OR, to take on the SOURaiders on Saturday, September 24, 2011.The Warriors fought hard but came up short losing 15-10.

The first half of the game was controlled by the SOURaiders as they scored 9 points off of Warrior mistakes. The SOURaiders forced a fumble and returned the ball for the first touchdown of the game. Later in the first half the SOURaiders forced a safety due to a bad snap on a punt. The rest of the first half neither team could move the ball ending the half SOURaiders on top, 9-0.

In the second half of the game the Warriors started to make their comeback scoring on Torrance Moise one yard run. The Warriors then recovered a fumble which led to a 22 yard field goal by Mason Prater giving the Warriors their first lead of the game. The SOURaiders answered with a touchdown of their own giving them the lead and the game, 15-10.

Leaders for the Warriors on offense were Torrance Moise with the only rushing touchdown for the Warriors and Deonte Fielder who rushed for 80 yards.

Leaders for the Warriors on defense were Nate Keller with 6 unassisted tackles and 7 assisted tackles, and Matthew Davison who had 3 unassisted tackles and 4 assisted.

The Warriors record falls to 0-3 while the SOURaiders record moves to 1-3.

The Warriors will be on the road again next week, 10/01/2011, as they take on Azusa Pacific University in Azusa, CA, starting at 6pm (PST).
