MONT VERNON, GA. - Despite an impressive display from the Warriors men's soccer team against Brewton Parker of Georgia, the game ended as a goalless draw after overtime.
The Warriors almost took the lead in the 40th minute, as freshman Vincente Munoz headed Alan Percival's cross inches wide of the post.
Javier Zorro Sandoval came close to sealing the victory for Webber in 96th minute, but the Colombian's effort went sailing over the crossbar following Mark Araujo's cross.
While the Barons struck the woodwork in 108th, the Warriors remained disciplined and did enough to hold on for the draw.
Coach Cockburn said: “Overall, I am happy with the performance of the players from the starting line up to those that came off the bench.
“I feel that we are getting even stronger in depth, especially with our new member - Vincente Munoz - who played tremendous on his debut for Webber.
“I am particularly proud to have our captain back playing his first 90 minutes since returning from a back injury, who showed great leadership at the heart of defense.”
The Warriors record moves to 0-1-1.
The Warriors' next game is against Thomas University (GA) on Sunday at 3:30pm.
