Warriors Break 3 Game Losing Streak as They Takedown the Wildcats

Babson Park, Fla. – The Warriors came into tonight's game looking to end a three game losing streak as they took on the Johnson and Wales University Wildcats. The Warriors did just that as they won, 72-69.
The win wouldn't come so easy for the Warriors as they struggled in the first half to get past the Wildcats' defense only posting 31.3% from the field compared to the Wildcats' 50.0%. In addition to the Warriors struggling against the Wildcats defense the Wildcats played hard on offense making 50.0% of beyond the arc shots and free throws. The Wildcats ability to play defensively hard in the first half resulted in the Warriors going into halftime 8 points down, 35-27.  Even though the Warriors were down, halftime proved to be what the Warriors needed as they came out fierce in the second half. With the help of their teammates #12 Luke Marlar and #23 Marvin Williams were on fire in the second half. Improving their from the field percentage to 61.5% the Warriors held the Wildcats to 42.9%. This allowed the Warriors to outscore the Wildcats in the second half 11 points resulting in the Warriors winning the Sun Conference matchup by 3, 72-69.
Leading the Warriors on the court was #12 Luke Marlar posting an impressive 29 points and 4 rebounds. Marvin Williams #23 also lead the Warriors with 12 points, 9 rebounds, 1 assist, 1 block, and 2 steals. Also Gabriel Rutledge led the Warriors on defense with 9 rebounds, 4 blocks, and 3 steals while posting 7 points. The win improves the Warriors' record to 11-12 overall and 6-8 in The Sun Conference while the Wildcats' record falls to 5-19 overall and 1-12 in The Sun Conference.
The Warriors take the court in Lakeland, Fla. against Southeastern University in another Sun Conference matchup on February 12th , tipoff is at 7 p.m.
