Babson Park, Fla. - Webber International University men's basketball team crossed the crooked lake tonight in the efforts to defeat their rival Warner University on their home court but were unsuccessful in doing so losing 94-80.
Going into halftime with a 8 point deficit the Royals just proved to be too much for the Warriors as they came out in the second half strong. The Royals fueled by an electric crowd and multiple slam dunks pushed past the Warriors by outscoring them in both the first and second half.
Leading the Warriors scoring an amazing 26 points was Junior Geidi and Marvin Williams with 13 points. Gabriel Rutledge led the Warriors on defense with 9 rebounds, 2 steals. Rutledge also posted 4 points. The Warriors' record is now 10-11 overall and 5-7 in The Sun Conference. The Royals record improves to 13-11 overall and 6-7 in The Sun Conference.
The Warriors return to action for their Coaches vs. Cancer game in which all proceeds will be donated to a local cancer society on Monday, February 7, as they host St. Thomas University at 7 p.m.
