Box Score Babson Park, Fla. – Warriors came out with a victory in their first match in the Holiday Inn Express Classic over Alice Lloyd College on December 29, 2011 with a score of 68-62.

David Marlar had a double-double with 14 points and 10 rebounds. Other notable scorers during the match were Johnson Mesidor with 18, Luke Marlar with 12, and Tyler Auerbacher with 11. Tyler Rutlege came out with 17 huge rebounds.

Brandon Hayes led Alice Lloyd with 17 points, but it was not enough to overtake the Warriors.

Warriors had 34 points in the paint, 17 off turnovers, 13 second chance points, 18 fast break points, and the WIU bench scored 23 points. The Eagles had 26 points in the paints, 3 points off turnovers, 9 second chance points, 4 fast break points, and their bench scored 21 points.

Warriors protected the ball better, they had 7 turnovers to 20 by Eagles, and Warriors defense stole 11 possessions from Alice Lloyd, to a mere 2 by the Eagles.

Webber International University improves to 5-4; whereas, Alice Lloyd goes down to 8-5.

WIU will host University of Pikeville in the Holiday Inn Express Classic on Saturday December 30, 2011, and the tip-off will be at 6 pm.
