Hart Leads Warriors Past Knights, 63-6

Lake Wales, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors faced off against the Southern Virginia University Knights on Saturday, November 5, 2011. From the beginning of the game everyone in the stands could tell that the Warriors came into the game ready to win.

The Warriors started off the game receiving the ball and proceeded to march down the field in two minutes 13 seconds and score on a 26 yard pass from Chris Hart to Jamal Rodman giving the Warriors the early lead, 7-0. On the next Warriors position Chris Hart hooked up with Mitchell Choque for a 21 yard touchdown pass with 10:58 left in the first quarter, 14-0. With 8:37 left in the first quarter Chris Hart hooked up with Mikale Foster for a 22 yard touchdown pass, 21-0. The Knights responded with 5:11 left in the first quarter with a four yard touchdown pass of their own and the extra point was blocked by the Warriors, 21-6. The Warriors responded with 00:04 seconds left in the first quarter with Zack Day rushing from four yards out for a touchdown giving the Warriors a commanding lead of, 29-6.

 In the second quarter of the game the hurry up offence of the Knights kept the Warriors defense out on the field and the Knights started having success moving the ball down the field until 8:16 left in the half Joshua Long forced, recovered, and returned fumble for a 94 yard defensive touchdown, 35-6. The Warriors could do no wrong as they scored with Jamal Rodman and Corey Jackson giving the Warriors a 49-6 lead going into the half.

The Warriors came out in the second half and scored two more time once with Erik McQueen's 22 rushing touchdown and Jonathan Hatcher's 31 yard touchdown reception to end the game, 63-6 over the Knights of Southern Virginia University.
Leading the Warriors on offence was #1 Chris Hart with an impressive 23 completions out of 33 attempts gaining 405 yards passing including 6 touchdown passes. #7 Zack Day also led the Warriors as he rushed for 28 yards in 5 attempts while also scoring a rushing touchdown.

Leading the Warriors on defense was #42 Nate Keller with his 8 solo tackles 5 assists and 1 sack for the game. Also #99 Joshua Long had a great game with 3 solo tackles while also scoring the only defensive points by forcing and recovering a fumble for  a 94 yard touchdown.

The Warriors improve their record to 3-6 overall and the Knights fall to 3-6 overall.

The Warriors will take the field for the last time on Saturday, November 12, 2011, as they celebrate Senior Day hosting Newport News Apprentice. Kick-off is set for 1:00 p.m. and the ticket office will open at 11:45 a.m. followed by the gates at 12:00 p.m.
