Babson Park, Fla. – Lady Warriors swept the tournament by sweeping versus Bryan College (TN), taking Ave Maria University in five sets, and finishing off the day by sweeping versus Warner University in Webber's Senior Night Game.
Warriors took the first match versus Bryan College (TN)
3-0 (28-26, 25-14, 25-22). Ave Maria took the second match from Warner University
3-1 (15-25, 25-19, 25-20, 26-24). Warner took the third match from Bryan College (TN) in five
(20-25, 17-25, 25-21, 25-18, 15-13). Webber won the fourth game of the tournament versus Ave Maria in five sets
(25-19, 26-28, 23-25, 25-12, 15-10). Bryan College took its first win of the tournament versus Ave Maria in the fifth match with a score of
3-1 (21-25, 25-16, 25-19, 27-25).
Webber honored four seniors;
Julianne Dougherty,
Caitlin Hall,
Heather Allshouse, and
Ashley Wolfe at the last match of the tournament versus Warner University. They swept the Lady Royals
3-0 (25-18, 25-21, 25-23).
All tournament players were:
Julianne Dougherty from Webber International University led the tournament with 53 total points.
Ashely Voudrie from Ave Maria with 45 total points during the tournament.
Shauna Brown from Webber International University had 43 total points.
Caroly Evans from Bryan College with 35.5 total points during the tournament.
Overall records for the featuring teams at the Warriors Invitational are: Bryan College (TN) 15-15, Ave Maria University 10-13, Warner University ended their night with 8-13, and Webber International University improves to 18-6.
Webber International University will travel to Miami, Fla. On October 26, 2011 to play St. Thomas University in a conference match at 2 pm.
