Babson Park, Fla. - University of St. Francis Wins Webber Tri-Match Tournament on October 19, 2011.
USF defeated Lady Warriors 3-1 (24-26, 22-25, 25-18, 21-25) in the first match of the tournament, and they also defeated Warner University 3-1 (25-21, 22-25, 26-24, 25-16) in the second match of the tournament.
Webber faced off against Warner in the last match of the tournament to see who would take the second place in the Webber Tri-Match Tournament. Warner took the first set, but Webber regrouped and won the next two, when it looked like a repeat of the other face offs between the crooked lake rivals, Warner came out hot and took the last sets to win the match and take second place in the tournament.
Webber International falls to 15-6 and they are still 9-1 in The Sun Conference. Warner's record after the Webber Tri-Match Tournament is 7-10 and 4-5 in The Sun Conference. St. Francis improved to 20-11 after the night was over.
The following ladies were all tournament leaders;
Julianne Dougherty (WIU) with 40 points, Joelle Warring (WU) with 32 points, and Jazzmyne Robbins (USF) with 31.5 points in the entire tournament.
Webber International University will host Webber International University Invitational tournament on Saturday October 22, 2011, the tournament will start at 8 am and will feature Bryan College, TN, Warner University, Ave Maria University, and the home team, Webber International University.
