Babson Park, Fla. – Webber's men's basketball team had a tough loss in the final seconds of overtime against St. Thomas University 77-75.
The matchup between Webber International and St. Thomas men's basketball teams proved to be a great one. Going into half time the Warriors' were playing strong only trailing St. Thomas University by one point, 30-29. Not willing to accept defeat the Warriors fought hard and sent the game into overtime in the second half by scoring 35 points to St. Thomas's 34 points. The Warriors were tied, 75 all, with less than 6 seconds on the clock in overtime when St. Thomas scored the final goal of the game putting them on top 77-75 as time ran out.
Leading the Warriors on the court was Junior Geidi with 16 points and 5 rebounds. Also, Marvin Williams led the Warriors with 16 points. This loss makes the Warriors' record 6-6 and 2-2 in The Sun Conference.
The Warriors return to action on Monday, January 10th, at 8:00 p.m. at Ave Maria University.
