Babson Park, Fla. – Webber's women's basketball team had another tough conference loss to Ave Maria University on the road 79-55.
The Lady Warriors traveled to Ave Maria hoping to break their 3 game losing streak. The Warriors came out strong scoring the first points of the game. However, Ave Maria University quickly took the lead away from the Warriors and never gave it back ending the half up 11 points, 35-24. The Warriors continued to fight hard in the second half but could not keep Ave Maria from extending their lead ending the game up 24 points, 79-55.
Leading the Warriors on the court was Nikki King with a double-double scoring 18 points and 12 rebounds. King also had 2 assists and 1 steal in the game
. Also, Angelica Pennington assisted the Warriors with 10 points and 2 rebounds. This loss makes the Warriors' record 2-11 and 1-4 in The Sun Conference.
The Lady Warriors return to action at home against Johnson and Wales University on Friday, January 21st, at 7:00 p.m.
