Lake Wales, FL - After a disappointing loss to Thomas this past Sunday, the Warriors found themselves preparing for battle once again, this time against local rivals Warner. The match was the first in the Crooked Lake Cup series, which is exclusively sponsored by Pizzanos of Lake Wales.
Warner gained the upper hand in the first half as the roaring crowd watched on. The Royals managed to gain a goal for their efforts, as Carlo Coelho met Renato Herrerias' cross at the back post in the 34th minute.
The Warriors had the better of the Royals in the second half, but didn't manage to find an equaliser.
Coach Cockburn said, “While we were defeated tonight, i am insanely proud of my team. We fought hard and put everything we have practiced into play, however just couldn't find the break through. Some players are yet to return while others are still settling into the squad. The Crooked Lake Cup is still within our reach, but for now our attention turns to Milwaukee.”
