Babson Park, Fla. – The Lady Warriors defeated Florida College on Tuesday September 28, 2010 in 4 games improving their overall record, 7-5, and 2-4 in The Sun Conference. Florida College now drops, 12-5 on the season.
It took the Lady Warriors 4 games (25-19, 25-15, 24-26, 25-20) to overpower the Lady Falcons. Leading the way were Ashley Wolf, Taylor Smith,
Julianne Dougherty,
Kristine Monforte, and Leyla Lloyd. All of WIU leaders played in all 4 games.
The Lady Warriors overall had 55 kills, 54 assists, 8 service aces, with 71 digs, and they had 11 total blocks.
Wolfe had 7 kills and 7 big blocks assists against Florida College giving the edge to the Lady Warriors for the win. Smith had lead the team with 10 kills, 11 digs and 2 block assists. Monforte had 5 kills, 1 dig, and she lead the team with 25 assists. Lloyd had 2 serve aces, 4 assists, and she lead the team with 29 digs.
Webber International University will be going to Opa Locka, Fla. to play St. Thomas University in a Sun Conference match this Friday October 1, 2010, game is set to start at 7 p.m.
