Babson Park, Fla. - The Warriors travel to West Palm Beach today, as they prepare to face Northwood in a Sun Conference playoff match tomorrow November 6, 2010 at 3 p.m. This is the first time Coach Cockburn has made the playoffs in his time at Webber, and he couldn't be more excited for the occasion.
Webber booked their place in the playoff tournament after defeating local rivals Warner last Wednesday. The game finished 2-1 and the Warriors became the first ever Crooked Lake Cup winners.
It's now back to business for the Warriors, who lost 3-1 to Northwood during their regular season. While Miguel Otero's fabulous strike levelled the scoring during the second half, Northwood managed to sneak two goals in the final ten minutes of the game.
The Warriors are 6-9-1 overall, while Northwood have an outstanding record of 11-5.
Coach Cockburn said, “If our last three performances are anything to go by, I am certain we can beat Northwood. It will all come down to maintaining our focus and playing as a team.”
