Babson Park, Fla. - The Warriors were entering their second-to-last conference game knowing that it was a must win. They were up against the Bees of SCAD University, a team fighting to clinch the top spot in the Sun Conference.
SCAD couldn't have hoped for a better start. Ellert Hreinsson found Jean Morana inside the Warrior's area, who fought off Webber's defense and placed the ball into the bottom left-hand corner of the goal, giving the Bee's the lead after four minutes.
It was ten minutes into the second half when SCAD found their second. A free kick was initially headed clear by Tolga Turhan, only for Hreinsson to volley the loose ball past Brandon Stout.
The Warriors weren't down and out just yet. They continued to pressure and came close with several chances, but it didn't look like their day. It was in the 70th minute when they finally found their reward. Miguel Otero got on the end of Andres Acosta's cross, slotting the ball in at the far post.
Webber controlled possession during the final twenty minutes of the game, but it was too little, too late. The Warriors now face Warner on Wednesday in their final Sun Conference encounter.
Coach Cockburn said, “We fought hard once again, but it was not to be. I assure you will we perform against Warner on Wednesday, so I'm urging everyone to come out and support their Warriors.”
