Babson Park, Fla. - The Warriors were on a high following their long-awaited win over Florida Memorial this past weekend, however found themselves facing the defending Sun Conference champions, the Eagles of Embry Riddle University.

The Eagles possessed the ball well during the opening moments of the game, and almost took the lead through Ryan Maloney after twelve minutes. Maloney's thunderous strike rattled the crossbar, allowing the Warriors to recuperate. Brandon Stout pulled off numerous saves to deny the Eagles, whilst communicating effectively with his solid back four. Javier De La Cruz came closest to scoring for the Warriors in the first half, but his header flew inches wide of the mark.

In the second half the Eagles continued knocking, but the Warriors kept their discipline and held on for overtime. While it appeared that double overtime couldn't even settle these two teams, the Eagles were awarded a penalty with six minutes left on the clock, after Ali Gokhan misjudged a tackle in the area. Maloney struck the ball directly down the middle, sealing the victory in the process.

Coach Cockburn said, “We were unfortunate and that's all there is to it. We played our hearts out today, showing we can hang with teams the calibre of Embry Riddle. Our next two games will prove a lot, but I'm positive we will silence our critics.”
