Miami, Fla. - This past Wednesday the Warriors took their first of two trips to Miami, coming up against the Bobcats of St Thomas University.
Webber were in desperate need of a victory and didn't take long to get off the mark. A defensive error allowed
Javier De La Cruz to precisely chip Aaron Jones to put the Warriors 1-0 ahead. The Warriors maintained their lead into the break, although St Thomas had the majority of possession.
The Bobcats continued to pressure in the second half, finding their equalizer through Jairon Moreno in the 49th minute. St Thomas took the lead just four minutes later, with Jonathan Rico at the center of attention. Jairon Moreno sealed the victory in the 87th minute, scoring his second of the game.
Coach Cockburn said, “It's disappointing to concede two goals in quick succession, but I am proud of my boys for battling until the end. The weather didn't help us either, but it's in the past now and we have to focus on our away trip to Florida Memorial.”
