BABSON PARK, Fla. - The Webber International University Lady Warriors suffered a tough loss Saturday (Jan. 16) against conference foe St. Thomas University going down 59-51 at the Sabbagh Athletic Center. WIU falls to 3-2 in The Sun Conference and 7-8 overall.

The first half was a very even encounter with the lead changing three times before the Lady Warriors eventually came out on top 31-27. Nikki King and Stacia Jo Hill led the way for WIU with 8 points each that included King scoring a jumper on the buzzer.

The second half was a different story as the Lady Bobcats (10-6, 5-1 TSC) dominated the scoring thanks largely to Cindy Castrillon's 17 points during the encounter. The Lady Warriors were up 45-44 with nine minutes left to play before STU got their noses in front and ran out 59-51 winners.

King led the way for the Lady Warriors with a double-double (17 points and 11 rebounds) while Stacia Jo Hill had 8 points. Chasity Edwards, Dione'shia Dunbar and Malikah Tanner each tallied 5 points.

The Lady Warriors return to action in Naples as they travel to face the Gyrenes of Ave Maria University on January 22nd in another very important conference match up. Tip off is stated for 6pm.
