Warriors End Season Falling to Eagles

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Webber International University men's basketball team ended their season against Embry-Riddle University in the quarterfinals of the 2009 The Sun Conference Men's Basketball Tournament Tuesday night at the ICI Athletic Center on the campus of Embry-Riddle University.  The Eagles took charge in the second half to defeat WIU 101-74.

Embry-Riddle, who was seeded in the 4h spot in the brackets, improves their record to 23-8 while the Warriors drop to 19-11, which is almost doubling their win record for the previous year. 

The Warriors started out the first half strong, taking up to a five point run with the first six minutes of the game.  The Eagles clawed their way back, scoring 16 points within the last five minutes of the game.  Warrior Luke Marlar came off the bench with the last few minutes of the games, sinking in two three-pointers to cut the Eagles half time lead by five, 41-46.  First half leaders for the Warriors were Brandon Streeter and Tyrell Harper.  Streeter recorded nine points while Harper had seven.

The Warriors shut down in the second half, not being able to grab the lead before the Eagles took it away.  ERAU had a 29 point run on WIU with a minute left in the game.  When the period ended, the Warriors ended their season with a score of 101-74.

Leading the way for the Warriors was Streeter with 17 points while Mark Marlar had 12 and Luke Marlar had 10.
