3 Lady Warriors Earn All-Conference Honors

DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - Three players of the Webber International University women's volleyball team -Kristina Reeves, Julianne Dougherty, and Kerri Romaniszyn, were all named to The Sun Conference 2009 All-Conference volleyball team during the conference tournament banquet Thursday night for their performance throughout this season.

Reeves, a 5'11 senior from Largo, Florida, is the backbone at the net for the Lady Warriors.  Reeves lead the conference in blocks, tallying a total of 124.  She placed 9th in kills (237), 12th in kills per set (2.3), and 13th in service aces (34).

Dougherty, a sophomore from Orlando, Florida, was the captain for this years team.  She led the Lady Warriors with digs, having 327 and being 3rd in the conference.  She placed 6th in hitting percentage (0.224), 7th in kills with 265, 9th in service aces (41), 11th in kills per set (2.5), and 16th in blocks, having a total of 42.

Romaniszyn, who is currently The Sun Conference Player of the Week, is a 5'11 senior from Port Orange, Florida.  She's 2nd in hitting percentage (0.282), 8th in both kills per set (2.6) and kills (257), and 18th in digs (182).

The Lady Warriors will be in action today, as they take on the #6 seed Northwood at 2:30 p.m.  If WIU wins this round, they will take on #2 seed SCAD at 7:30 p.m. tonight.
