DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. - The Warriors volleyball team went into the regional finals in Daytona Beach, on the campus of Embry-Riddle, seeded third.
Ahead of the Warriors was Embry-Riddle who was seeded second and Savannah College of Arts & Design who was seeded first. At the first round of the tournament the Warriors faced St. Thomas University.
The Warriors were up early and ready to play beating St. Thomas in three straight games. Their next component was the No. 2 seed Embry Riddle who the Warriors had not beaten so far in the season. Coach Edfors spent the last five practices working on shutting down Embry's outstanding middle's. The practices paid off when the Warriors came out beating Embry Riddle in four taking them on to the Region XIV finals.
Here they met up with SCAD number one in the conference and a top nationally ranked team. After game two, the Warriors and SCAD both had one game each under their belt. Two more wins for either team and the winner was off to the national finals. The Warriors fought for every point, but found themselves short at the end. They played hard and made their parents, fans and coaches proud; it is now time for a little rest and start getting ready for next season.
