Ashley Cockrell is entering into her 4th season with the Lady Warriors soccer program. Cockrell was the Lake Wales High School coach for five years before coming to WIU and in that five year span she won two district titles.

Ashley Cockrell was born in Atlanta, Georgia, and grew up in Sharpsburg, Ga. She started playing soccer when she was five years old and played for the Lightening and Lazers Soccer clubs. Cockrell Attend East Coweta High School and lettered in five sports; track, softball, football, soccer, and basketball. She then attended Jacksonville State University in Jacksonville, Alabama on a soccer scholarship. There she was a four year starting forward for the Gamecocks. In her junior year she kicked for the football team and became the first female to score in an NCAA football game in August 2001. Cockrell graduated with a Bachelors in Psychology and English.

Cockrell is married to Jake Cockrell and has three children Kenzie, Cash, and Birdie.
