Gabriel Rutledge is in his fourth season as the Head Men's Basketball Coach at Webber International University in 2023-24.

After spending the previous four seasons as an assistant men’s basketball coach at Webber, Rutledge was announced as the program's Interim Head Coach on May 15, 2020. On March 26, 2021, Director of Athletics Brad Niethammer removed the interim tag and announced Rutledge as the Warriors' Head Men's Basketball Coach.

As a coach at Webber, Rutledge has helped guide four athletes to All SUN Conference Teams, as well as one NAIA Honorable Mention All-American

Prior to Webber, Rutledge taught at Gainesville High School where he served as Head JV Coach. He went 43-3 in his first two seasons, including an undefeated season at 23-0 during his second year. Rutledge was named NCFBCA Junior Varsity Coach of the Year in 2015 and 2016. As an assistant coach for the varsity team, he helped lead the Hurricanes to a state championship runner-up finish in 2015.

As a high school standout at Gainesville High, Rutledge was the team captain in his junior and senior years for the Hurricanes, and during his final season, he led his team to victory in the 2009 FHSAA Class 6A State Championship.

Following his high school career, Rutledge came to Webber as a player in 2009. His freshman year, he averaged 3.4 points per game and 3.6 rebounds per game, highlighted by an eight-point performance against Our Lady of the Lake, and seven rebounds against Indiana Southbend. In his sophomore season, he averaged 7.2 points per game and 8.4 rebounds per game. His season highs included 23 rebounds against Trinity College and 16 points against Florida Memorial. In his junior year, Rutledge improved to 11.1 rebounds per game, while averaging 5.9 points per game. He put in a season-high 14 points against Embry-Riddle and 21 rebounds against Mckendree. In his senior season, Rutledge averaged 7.8 points and 9.4 rebounds. He poured in 16 points twice, both times against Johnson & Wales, and grabbed 20 boards against Florida College. For his career, he averaged 9.8 rebounds, 7.6 points, and 1.5 blocks per game. Rutledge was named team Defensive Player of the Year for the 2010-11 season. For 2011-12, Rutledge was named the team MVP. For the 2012-13 Rutledge was named to the All-Sun Conference Second-Team, as well as the Webber Coach’s Award. By the time he graduated, he was Webber’s all-time leading rebounder with 1002 boards.

Academically, Rutledge earned his Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from Webber International University in May 2013 and his Master of Arts Degree in Sports Administration and Coaching from Bob Jones University in August 2020.
