Gainesville - The Webber International University men bowlers dominated the 2011 Gator Collegiate Shoot-out from start to finish, hosted by the University of Florida. The Warriors led qualifying by more than 600 pins over the second place Florida State Seminoles.
After earning the number one seed in qualifying, the Warriors defeated the # 4 seed University of South Florida 2-1 (179-223, 195 - 158, 228 - 180) and met the
2 seed Florida State in the final after the Seminoles won over the the 3 seed University of Central Florida in the other semi-final match.
In the final, Webber bounced back after losing the opening game to win the title 2-1 (177- 202, 267 - 149, 213 - 187) . WIU's
Javier Diaz led all bowlers with a fine 1421 (211, 197, 289, 210, 259, 255) for six games,a 236.8 average. Joining Diaz on the All-Tournament team were WIU bowlers Cody Reichenberger (JV), Cruise Webster and Kristis Sergejevas. The team broke a Webber International record with a 1201 team game on games of (185+266+289+224+237) from Colin Champion, Kristis Sergejevas,
Javier Diaz, Cruise Webster and Brandon Hott.

On an exciting note, the Webber JV team won the JV title over Florida State after defeating the UCF JV in the semis. The Warrior JV flirted with Baker perfection with a fine 299 in the final match winning the title 2-0. Alejandor Matos, Roberto Ramos, Brian Fowler, Daniel Gajus, Cody Reichenberger, Austin Jahnke and Alex Begnoche comprise the WIU JV team.
