Coach Scott is entering his 14th season with the Warrior football program and 10th as the head coach. Scott led the Warriors to a Sun Conference Championship in 2014 Kelly Scott is the only original member of the coaching staff from the Warriors inaugural season in 2002. He has served as the defensive coordinator for the previous years before taking over as head coach for the 2006 season.
Coach Scott attended Manchester College, Indiana, where he played as a defensive back for three years before transferring to Indiana University to complete his education and receive a Bachelor of Science degree in Physical Education.
Scott’s coaching career began in Indianapolis, Indiana. He coached for three years at Speedway High School, one at Brebeuf Preparatory, and three years at Cathedral High School before relocating to Florida. Coach Scott accepted the position of defensive coordinator at Lake Wales High School where he served six years. The University of South Carolina secured Scott’s services as a graduate assistant coach before Scott made his return to Florida. Lake Wales High School once again attracted Scott back to Polk County for two years before he became part the inaugural coaching staff at Webber International University.
In Coach Scott’s first year as head coach he received the NAIA Independent Coach of the Year and SEAC Coach of the Year. Coach Scott is also the Football Rater for this inaugural season of The Sun Conference.
This will be Coach Scott’s ninth year at the helm of the Webber Warriors after he accepted the position and moved from defensive coordinator to head coach.
