Dr. Ormsby will also serve as a lecturer in the Health, Physical Education and Recreation Department at UNCP.

"I am extremely happy for Peter, but at the same time a little sad as we are losing an outstanding coach, a good friend, and a brilliant mind in the world of distance running," stated Athletic Director, Bill Heath. "Our entire staff congratulates Pete as he enters the world of NCAA-II athletics and has the opportunity to return to the classroom and teach," added Heath.

Ormsby has been at Webber International for seven years. For the past four years he has served as head coach for men's and women's cross country, indoor and outdoor track & field, and started the men's and women's triathlon teams this past year. He had tremendous success with the cross country teams, recording 12 national qualifiers, four conference champions, and eleven top 5 finishes. Ormsby also had great success with the Warriors track and field programs. He had 28 individual conference champions, 124 all-conference student-athletes, and 12 All-Americans. His women's team won the conference championship in 2008 and finished second in this year's championship event. His men's team registered five consecutive runner-up finishes at the conference championships from 2009-2012. He was named Coach of the Year five times by the conference.

"My time at Webber has been some of the most productive years of my life. I have enjoyed growing and developing the programs into national caliber teams and giving student-athletes a great championship experience. I will miss the incredible people I have had the pleasure of working with throughout this journey," stated Dr. Peter Ormsby.
