BABSON PARK, Fla. – Webber International University athletic staff and student-athletes volunteered and participated in The Great American Teach In on Wednesday, November 19th. Head Track and Field coach,
David Andrews, along with members of the team, volunteered at Dale R. Fair Babson Park Elementary School, in Babson Park.
"It was a lot of fun watching how energetic the kids were." said Coach Andrews.
Members of the team set up stations that were designed to introduce and teach the children about the different events the athletes participate in. The athletes like,
Kathi Whitfield also, discussed why she went to college. Kathi stated, "I love to give back and teach children new things. It was very enjoyable."
Junior Ciera Abundez," It was a great experience being able to teach kids about the fundamentals of track and field." Senior
Gabriel Barron said, "We have been working with the kids all fall reading with them. That was a lot of fun. However, I really enjoyed teaching the kids about what I do on the track. They made me laugh when I told them how far I run."
