LAKE WALES, Fla. – The Webber International University Warriors football team hosted NCAA III opponent Mississippi College Choctaws at Legion Field located in Lake Wales, Florida in a 3:00 p.m. game. The Warriors had no problem with the Choctaws as theywon the game 35-7.
The Warriors were the first to put points on the board with a 45 yard field goal from
Anthony Woythaler with 3:02 left in the first quarter, 3-0. The Warriors would extend their lead on a five yard run by Zach Day with 12:03 left in the second quarter, 10-0. The Choctaws would answer with a 25 yard touchdown pass to cut the score to three, 10-7. The Warriors would respond with a four yard pass to Larry Jackson from
Billy Pavlock with 3:22 left in the first half, 17-10. Warriors would again put points on the board as
Anthony Woythaler kicked a 42 yard field goal, 20-7. With 10:16 left in the game
Billy Pavlock would run for a 7 yard touchdown putting the Warriors up, 27-7. Then with 9:40 left the Warriors would seal the deal as
Steven Willis intercepted the ball and returned it 25 yards for a defensive touchdown, 35-7.
The Warriors will return to action in two weeks as they host Edward Waters College on October 12
th, in a 6:00 p.m. game.
