Babson Park, Fla. – Thiago Marion, a junior from Brazil, won the Men's Tennis Champions of Character Award at the Annual Tennis Awards Banquet for The Sun Conference in Savannah, Georgia.

The Champions of Character Award is voted on by the coaches in the conference.

“I was very proud that Thiago was honored with this prestigious award,” stated Coach Bill Heath. “This award means a lot to me, as a coach, and for our program at Webber,” added Heath.

Marion is in his first year at WIU after transferring from Delta State University (MS). Marion bounces between #5 and #6 singles and plays #3 doubles for the Warriors. He is a 3.6 student. This is the first year the award has been given in The Sun Conference for tennis.
