BABSON PARK, Fla. – The Webber baseball team faced off against the Statesmen of William Penn and the Cardinal of Concordia University and split the doubleheader beating the Statesmen 5-2 and dropping one to the Cardinal 5-4 in nine innings.
The first was won by two Warriors, Jesse Wiggington who tossed a complete game and Ryan Jamison who accounted for four of the Webbers five runs. Wiggington went the distance allowing just two runs on four hits and struck out five Statesmen and improving his record to 3-1 on the year. Jamison continued to swing a hot bat as he was two-for-three with a two run double and a two run home run, ending the day with four RBI and a run scored.
Webber found it more difficult to swing the bat in game two versus Concordia as they only had one hit through the first eight innings and finished the game with only two for the game. Shawn Mayhew went one-for-three with a run scored and an RBI while Ryan Regidor picked up the other hit in the bottom of the ninth and scored a run.
Webber runs their record to 13-8 on the year and will face off against Bellevue University Monday March 8th with the first pitch scheduled for 7 pm.
